The details of daily life


"The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. "
I like this quote. I like William Morris' designs too and the other quote that is probably more familiar:
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." There is something serene in both of these statements, something that evokes time and space, attention and mindfulness.
Today was a day for noticing some of the details of daily life like the bluebells which have come out in their profusion in the front garden
.
For catching the sunlight on the willow tree in the back garden just before the rain started:

And then catching the rainbow while it was raining in the sunshine:


So much to be thankful for, so much to enjoy if we choose to stop for the moment.
