My Week by Maximus the Cat!

An occasional series!

It's been a topsy turvey week here with my staff.  One of them has gone away complete with huge suitcase.  I miss her as she always gave me lots of kisses and cuddles although I have to say I am not missing the dancing and upside down turnabouts!  All a bit much for me but I have great tolerance!!. Other things have been moving too so I just had to investigate - any cleared cupboard is a home to me

And it was very kind of the staff to put sheets and towels out on the table for me in the spare room

But I wasn't at all impressed when they woke me up taking photos!  Can you believe it?

Yes, I was grumpy but who wouldn't be?  So I went downstairs and oh how lovely that sunshine was!

The staff member who put the sheets and towels out seems to be working at the dining room table a lot these days so I popped up to keep her company.

Evenings were spent on THE QUILT wherever I could find a space

or on the lap of the other staff member who is generally much calmer and quieter - zzzzzz, it's been a busy week.

Does my paw look big in this?

Max, Maximus, I'll answer to anything if there is meat and gravy about!

Someone's hiding....

Someone loves to get 'under' things and managed to open the door to hubby's wardrobe and scramble in amongst the many shirts!!  But I have to admit he does look rather cute.

Maximus

Some just know how to relax
and look very cute

Unfortunately his sister Molly has been missing for 3 weeks and we fear has been taken by the local foxes!! Despite flyers to neighbouring houses (she is microchipped and has a collar with our address on) she has not been seen since she disappeared on 28th May.
Max is coping and in fact he is a different cat!  He seems to prefer being the only animal to be loved round here!   He has been with me all morning here in my office, asleep on the patchwork quilt covered couch!

Don't you wish sometimes you were a cat?

Instalment 3 - Maximus and Molly come to stay!!

Not one cat but two!!  It has been a rollercoaster of a ride I have to tell you.  Since our special cat Alfie died two years ago we have said we would have another one at some point and that point seemed to be right about four weeks ago when we started looking at rescue cats locally.  But I had NO idea how emotional this might be.  Do you know what I mean?  It seemed each one I loved had gone before we got to see him.  Then it was a case of 'if you love me you have to love my brother too' and because I hesitated for a day or so, they, too went to someone else.  So daughter no.3 did lots of research and found a rescue centre (on our way to the tea shop on Mother's Day) and we made the decision there and then.  It takes a bit of getting used to again having cats.  They have been in the living room for a week (request by the rescue centre) but are scheduled to have the freedom of the rest of the house on Saturday but they can't go outside for another 6 weeks!!!
Max, below, is the timid one although he much larger than Mollie.  They are brother and sister and supposedly only 18 months.  He is quite a handsome boy already though.

Mollie loves to lie on her back for a tummy rub or dashing around using her paws to 'football dribble' anything she can find that moves!  They love each other a lot and are sitting side by side here with me on the sofa as I type.  I realise that for me having anyone to come and live in the house is quite something and through this process (of having the cats) I am learning quite a lot about myself.  I also realise just how much I loved Alfie for the five years we had him.  He was a very special boy.

Thoughtful Wednesday
